Windows 10: Heavy Distortion with Maono AU-A04 microphone

I have a Maono AU-A04 came with a USB B 2.0 to USB A cable, and when I connect it to my MSI GP66 and test it, there is a ton of distortion, so many crackles that I can barely hear myself. I sound distorted.I have tried it in every USB port of my PC, which are all 3.0, and even tried with a USB 3.0 hub, but to no avail. I have deleted and reinstalled drivers, reinstalled Windows, and changed drivers from the device manager. I tried using the mic through the inbuilt audio recorder in windows and through discord.Here's the real kicker, the mic works perfectly

analog Microphone not working in windows 8.1

Hi,

i have a dell laptop with windows 8.1 OS. i purchased a analog microphone Model: maono AU 400. when i connect it to my laptop the device is not connected nor showing. the following things are i did.

1. i have checked all the fields in sound option.
2. only internal microphone displays not external. i connected with both TRS & TRRS no improvement.
3. realtek hd manager also installed no use.
4. i have tried all the possibilities, but i couldn't able to get the maono microphone work on LAPTOP.
5. but the microphone works fine with i phone 6s.
6. i think the problem is with driver but i dont know how to do it. kindly help.

 

Microphone treated as line-in is heavily distorted

I want to mix the audio output of a console with the audio on Windows so that I can play games and watch videos/talk via VOIP programs while also hearing the game audio. To do this, I have bought a HDMI-repeater that extracts audio to RCA and an additional soundcard. The RCA output is converted to a regular 3.5mm audio jack that's plugged into the soundcard's microphone input. In Windows, I've set it to listen to this device.

This setup works, but the audio from the device is heavily distorted, even with microphone boost disabled. Feeding the RCA into a pair of headphones directly yields the expected audio, so there is no problem with the repeater.

Does Windows treat microphone input in some specific way that result in these distortions, and can they be disabled? The audio card I use is an ASUS Xonar DGX, and aside from changing the input volume (distorted on all volume levels) and toggling microphone boost, I can't seem to improve the audio.

Distorted sound in microphone while using skype

Let's ensure that the microphone that you are using is not disabled and is set as default in the computer. Follow these steps to check this:

a. Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.

b. Now, right click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.

c. Select “Microphone” and click on “Properties” and make sure that the microphone is enabled.

d. You may also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default.
