    Heavy Network Usage


    Hello,

    Some Unknown service is continuously downloading content in the background. I cannot trace out the application/service which is using the network via task manager and resource monitor. Task manager is showing heavy network activity, but none of the process is showing network activity which is really weird. I would want to know which service/app is using the network which already ate huge data for the last two days. I have very limited bandwidth.

    I already set the network as metered network and set network bandwidth limitations as well. None worked.

    One possible reason why the network data usage isn't showing up may be due to a third party program causing it not to work properly. To isolate your concern, we'd like to ask a few questions:

    • Are you using a third party app to monitor your internet usage?
    • Are you on a metered connection? To check, click this

    Hi,

    One of the possible reasons why this issue occurs is when your computer is not set as metered connection. A metered network is being set when you have limited data plan and want to control your data usage. To know more about your high data usage
    issue in Windows 10, we just have a few questions:

    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • Which build and version of Windows 10 are you running? To check it, click
      Start      , type About your PC, then press
      Enter.
    • Are you using a wired or a wireless connection?

    In the meantime, we suggest that you set your device to a metered connection. To do this, kindly follow the steps provided on this

    To further isolate your data usage issue, we'd like to ask for a screenshot of your App usage and App history. To do this, kindly follow these steps:

    For App usage:

    • Click Start > Settings > Network &
      Internet.
    • In the left pane, click Data usage >
      Usage       details. Please refer to the screenshot below:

    • Click Start > type Task Manager > press
      Enter.
