Windows 10: HEIF & HEVC extension downloaded, but couldn't view image files

Hi Team,I have successfully installed the HEIF extension and also purchased the HEVC extension from the Microsoft store. After downloading the extensions too I'm unable to view the images captured in HEIC format. Even on the home page of the HEIF/HEVC extension only options to view videos are available. I have tried attaching all the screenshots of the home tab of extensions, photos app notifications and payment order receipt but unable to do the same.I need your suggestions and input at the earliest.RegardsThoufiq

High Efficiency Image File (HEIF) format is used for photos to keep down file sizes. It can also use the codes like HEVC to significantly improve file compression, while providing a netter image quality. I would request you to install the codecs:

HEIF Image Extensions and

HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer.



If you are having issues installing like you mentioned query, I would suggestion you to follow the troubleshooting steps provided here:

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.

HEVC Video Extensions and HEIF Image Extensions

I installed the HEVC video extensions and I also installed the HEIF image extensions.

I still can't open HIF files.

I couldn't find a way to contact MS support for MS-Store apps!

 

Heif Image Extension

Actually, I had not downloaded the hevc video extension, just the heif image extension. I later read that both were needed to view heic photos, but I was able to view them with just the heif extension until today. Not sure what the issue is. I am reluctant
to try the video extension because I read a lot of very negative reviews apart from the fact that they charge a nominal fee. I'll check out copytrans. Thanks again.
