Windows 10: Hello can someone please help. My HP laptop 15s-fq4xxx

battery is busted and I need to get a replacement battery, but for now I don’t have the money. I don’t know how to explain this but it’s charging although charging at zero, and the performance is very poor, to the point where I can’t do my school work. I read somewhere in these discussions that if you remove the battery your laptop will be fine and work with 100% performance. So I removed the battery but the laptop is still slow! I set power whilst charging to 100% but it is still slow. Please help asap. I have an assignment due Monday
