  2. Device Manager Un-Hiding Hidden Devices

When you connect a plug and play device, Windows Plug and Play manager detects it, finds and installs the driver. Device Manager lists the device with a solid icon.

The driver is only removed when you uninstall the device, not simply by disconnecting the device. When the device is disconnected, its driver is still installed. By default, Device Manager only displays connected devices. When you show hidden devices, note the Bluetooth icon you see is semi-transparent (not opaque). That indicates a "non-present" device. Sometimes also called a "ghost" device. The driver is still installed but the device is not currently detected (i.e. not connected).

    Device can be disconnected when
    • Device unplugged (e.g. removing a USB device)
    • Turning a device OFF
    • Disabling the device in BIOS (then windows won't detect it) or
    • Device failure

    So
    • Check BIOS as suggested
    • Check board connections
    • Can b/t be turned off by a switch? or keyboard combination?
Also possible the b/t h/w failed

USB microphone show up under "Other Devices" in the Device Manager

    Hi Luke,

We suggest that you update the device driver. You can do that by following these steps:

    • Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select
it from the list of results.

    • Expand the category where your device is located, then right-click on the name of your device, and select Update Driver Software.

    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If updating the device driver doesn't work, we suggest that you reinstall the driver:

    • Open Device Manager.

    • Right-click on the name of the device.

    • Select Uninstall.

    • Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

Touchpad has quit working - Drivers are not showing up in Device Manager

    Hello czarkhasm.

    Thanks for publishing your query.

Please follow the steps below to solve your problem:

1 In Start, find Device Manager and select from the list of results. In Mouse and other pointing devices, select the touch panel, open it, choose the Driver tab and select Update driver. If Windows is not a new driver, look for one on the device manufacturer's
    website and follow the instructions.

2 If those steps have not worked, try uninstalling the touchpad driver: open Device Manager, right-click (or press and hold) the touchpad driver and select Uninstall. Restart the device and Windows will try to reinstall the driver.

3 If that does not work, try using the generic driver that is included with Windows. Follow these steps: in Device Manager, right-click on the audio driver (or keep it pressed)> Update driver software ...> Browse the computer to find driver software> Let me
choose it from a list of drivers Device compatible with mouse with HID, select Next and follow the instructions to install it.

If the problem is not solved by changing the driver, there may be a problem with the touch panel. For help, contact the PC manufacturer.

    Cordially
