Windows 10: Hello. Can't backup in Win11, my C: drive has 1.68tb free. Destination drive has 4tb free.

Hello Dave. I have a similar situation. My C: drive has 1.68 TB free, 2tb nvme. My D: drive has 560 gb free 2tb ssd. I am not backing up the D: drive. My backup drive is a new empty formated ntfs 4tb external usb SSD. I am getting the error message. A shadow copy could not be created. Please check VSS & SPP application event logs for more info. Details - insufficient storage available to create either the shadow copy storage file or other shadow copy data.. Could the system be trying to put the shadow on the D: drive? Changing Destination Drive for Backup in Windows 10

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if this helps:

• Press Windows key.
• Type in Backup and Restore.
• Under Backup or restore your files select set up backup.
• Once the set up starts you'll get an option to choose the destination drive.
• And then follow the onscreen instructions.

WD 4TB usb drive only allows 1 32GB backup locks

WD 4TB usb drive only allows 1 32GB and won't allow any more backups to stack on the 4TB, I m locked out even though I can get it mounted RW anyone else have trouble with a WD? ,

1) Clean install Windows 10
The instructions to wipe the drive are in post# 79
Then just continue the install

2) Creating a bootable miniTool PW disc instructions can be found in post# 73

3) Resizing the C: partition instructions can be found in TopGun's post# 58
