Windows 10: Hello, how might I resolve Windows 11 not allowing me to cancel the manual restart process...

Hi, I have updated windows 11 probably twice recently that I had wanted to cancel the process before Windows exited. However, both times Windows did not allow me to execute the exit command when I clicked the cancel button. I would like to see if there might be a solution to this issue in case I might have left some important documents open.Thank you.

Cancel Windows 11 upgrade in process

Windows 11 upgrade was accidentally accepted during an aggressive urging.

Now still in Windows 10, but at the "Accept License Terms for Windows 11" stage in Windows Update. There is not a "cancel upgrade" choice, but Windows 10 is desired.

The choice is either to proceed with the Upgrade by accepting the License Terms, or to close the window. If you close the window, the choice remains and no other updates seem to be processed.

How can this be cancelled? Also there are many unwanted popups.

Windows defender will not cancel

Windows defender will not cancel when I press cancel in the windows defender window. Box greys out and windows defender proceeds to update and will not allow this process to stop. I have quit the application and restarted the device and issue persist.
Please release update to resolve this issue.
