Windows 10: Hello I am not allowed to enter my PIN on initial screen and the following message appears:

'Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again.'Then it sends me to ' Search for app in the Store?You need to install an app for this task. Would you like t9 search for one in the Store?Y/NSince I am locked out nothing happens.Ocationally an error message box shows up:'The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in thisapplication. This overrun could potentially allow a malicioususer to gain control of this application.'If you be so kind to advise what can be done?

Login with PIN and Hello

• How are you setting the PIN and Hello?
• Which build version of Windows is your PC running on?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to set up PIN.

• Open Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
• Do the same for the Windows Hello.

can not enter lock screen PIN

I would suggest you to follow the steps given below and check.

Step1: Boot your system in safe mode.

Refer:

Start your PC in safe mode in
Windows 10

If you are able to boot into safe mode update display drivers.

Step 2:
Update display drivers.



a. Press Windows + X, Click
Device Manager.

b. Expand Display
Adapters.

c. Check if the name of the graphic card is the list.

d. Right click on the Display Adapter’s name and click
Update.

e. You may reinstall the drivers from Computer Manufacturer’s website.

FingerPrint - Without Windows Hello PIN

As per your query, I like to inform you that; we cannot set the finger print Logon without setting the Windows hello pin. Windows hello pin will work as an alternative option to login to your computer through finger print Logon. Windows hello
pin will help you to login to your computer if you are unable to login to your computer through finger print authentication.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to enable finger print logon.

• 
  Press Windows key + r and type
  gpedit.msc and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Select Administrative Templates under
  Computer Configuration.
  
• 
  Select Windows Components.
  
• 
  Select Biometrics.
  

In Biometrics > consider that for a home system, you might enable the following:

1) Allow the use of biometrics

2) Allow users to log on using biometrics
