Windows 10: Hello I am not very tech savvy but my HP laptop windows home two year old computer

HP sent a Bios update last week and now I'm locked out. I get the error message a security change was made. My computer went back to the first account name the day I bought it new. I use a tethering app and have a thumb drive to install it but can't get online to install it. I'm not sure if I still have the password to that first setup account. I'm the only one ever used the computer. I'm going to the library to use wifi but wanted to know what to do if I don't have the right password to login. Also I want to remove the update because I need the files on the account that was working for over a

Different answers each time I called HP Yes/No Can be connected/No it can't. Last call suggested kill printer add back. It's not on the HP list and can't pick up blue blinking wireless signal . Older HP Inkjet 6350 year old HP laptop both wireless wizard
asks for WPA

Thank you Patricia for all your help. Your suggestion isn't much different from the solution HP Tech support ultimately suggested, which is to restore the PC to it's factory installation from the recovery drive. I was hoping I wouldn't need to go that route
which necessitates re-installing all my applications. I'm beginning to think I might as well just buy a new PC as this one is already 3 years old.

Certainly not, I seldom suggest factory reset (reinstalls old version with useless manufacturer apps).

3 years old is very Young, i own pc 10 years old running perfectly well
