    Windows subsystem for android is not starting.

    I installed win subsystem for android, everything worked great, even sideloaded a bunch of apks which all worked. Now, I start it and it says "Starting Windows Subsystem for Android..." for two minutes, then the window closes with no message or error. I did restart my computer and do a BIOS reset (other problem not related), but put all settings back like Secure Boot, fTPM, and virtualization.

    Virtualization is on. On Windows 11 Insider Beta channel. ADB setup.

    I can open the menu for WSA, but none of the apps installed. I also can't open my Files through WSA.

    Any help is deeply appreciated!

    Problems with the Android Subsystem

    Hello,

    I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

    A couple of points:

    1. WSA would not work on Virtual machine as it emulates SSD as a hard drive. Hard drive is not supported by WSA.

    2. If you set the region to the US, other preconditions must be met:

    Your Device must be running Build 22000 and meeting the requirements for Windows 11, including supported processors.

    The Computer must support virtualization and be enabled in BIOS/UEFI and Optional Features.

    The device must have at least 8GB of RAM and SSD as a Storage device. For WSA, a Hard drive is not supported.

    The Store version must be 22110.1402.6.0 or higher. Go to Store Library to update.

    The PC's Region must be set to the US.

    The Amazon account you plan to use must be US-based.

    Your PC must be in Windows Insider Program Beta Channel or Release preview.

    Are these conditions met?

    Also, the statement “ They upgrade I need to open the android subsystem, but the subsystem is already running and developer mode is turned on for them to use ADB to connect to the subsystem. ” is a bit unclear. Can you please explain more?
