Hello, i want to delete this file. But it keep saying that I cant and i need insert a disk rom

I get the insert a disk message repeatedly in Windows 10

You may follow the steps provided below and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to insert the disk into the drive and go to disk Management, then there change the drive letter to the DVD/CD drive.

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Disk Management.
  
• 
  Click on Change the driver latter and path.
  

If the issue persist, go to device Manager, then right click on the DVD/CD driver and click uninstall the driver and restart pc, then PC will install the driver automatically which will remove this error.

• Press Windows key + X.
• Select Device manager.
• click on DVD/CD Rom driver.
• Right click on the DVD/CD rom driver and select driver tab.
• Click on uninstall.

CD/DVD drive says Please insert a disk. (Windows 10)

2. All disks elicit same problem - 'insert disk'

3. Acer Aspire 5551 - drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N

Driver in use: 10.0.14393.0 21/06/2006 MS

for you info:

1) Drive burns 100% ok (disc verify and scan perfect)

2) Drive reads data 100% ok (I can read data using an additional software, just not in file explorer)

3) I can NOT browse the contents of any disc from windows file explorer

Step 1: I suggest you to check if there is any yellow exclamation point on CD/DVD in Device Manager.

• Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on Device Manager.
• Expand DVD/CD ROM drives, right click on the driver.
• Click on Properties and check the device status

Step 2: If the drive is being detected in Device Manager try the below to update the drivers:

• • 
    Right click on Start button and select Device Manager.
    
  • 
    Expand DVD/CD ROM drives, right click on the drivers and click on Update driver software.
    
  • 
    Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
    

Step 3: If the device is not detected on your computer try to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter
