Windows 10: hello, i wanted to change my exposure on my external webcam via the windows provided tools...

like i said wanted to change the exposure and it didn't let me. can you help me please? FYI I'm on Win 10 home

windows hello in windows 11 not working on external webcam

I have a new laptop and in setting it up it downloaded Windows 11, which I set up nicely. All good - except I use an external monitor, mouse, keyboard, webcam when not travelling. The webcam does not work with windows hello. Even though I set it up as the default camera, when I start up windows, the windows hello screen appears and the camera lights on the laptop itself flash - and that camera recognizes my face, but not the webcam on the external monitor. Can I get the external webcam I have mounted on my external monitor to recognize my face? As I said, other than for Windows hello that external webcam works.

Toggling Between Integrated Webcam And External Webcam.

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



You cannot use the integrated webcam as well as the external webcam at the same time and there is no option in Windows to toggle between them.



So, in order for you to use the external webcam for both Windows Hello and other purposes, then you need to disable the internal webcam from
Device Manager as you have described in your post.
