    This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Hello, I’ve been having some issue regarding not being able to open my app installer or any... :)

    In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
    Go figure!

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    We understand how difficult it could be, when the PC doesn’t work the way it should. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What happens when you try to setup Windows Hello?
    • Were you able to use the Fingerprint login before?


    Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check.

    1. Press Windows + X and click on Device Manager.
    2. Expand or double-click Biometric Devices.
    3. Right-click on the listed driver, and then select
      Uninstall
      device
    4. Select Delete the driver software for this device, and then click Uninstall.
    5. Follow the onscreen steps and restart the PC.
    6. Upon restart, install the Biometric device drivers from computer manufacturer website.
