My taskbar and start button are unresponsive. When I look up possibly troubleshooting tips they say I need to check for updates but I cannot access my settings app as well. Not sure what to do next

Taskbar buttons occasionally unresponsive

Sometimes, I will get one or two desktop taskbar buttons. i.e.





that wont respond properly, to the extent that if left click, nothing happens. In order to access the item, the browser, a fiIe explorer page, word doc, etc., I must do mouse hover to bring up the image, and then do a right click on the image to get to the target. Either that, or right click the button to close it, and then reopen, after which, the problem no longer exists.

I've dealt with his for a long time. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. It's random. There may be only one button or multiple buttons on the taskbar, and only one or two of of a group buttons will be affected.

Sorry for the trouble, here are few steps that I would suggest:

• Press the Windows + X
• Open the Command Prompt (Admin)
• Now type the command as " Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
• Push Enter
• Restart the system.
• Now see if the issue persists
• If it persists the only option is to create a new user admin account.
