The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

We may need to remove the temporary user account on the computer to resolve the problem. To remove it, follow these steps:

• Restart the computer while holding down the Shift key on your keyboard.
• Select Troubleshoot.
• Choose Advanced options.
• Select Command Prompt.
• Sign in to the administrator account.
• Once you have the command prompt open, type net user then press
  Enter.
• Take note of the username of the temporary account.
• Type net user username /delete then press Enter
  (replace "username" with the username of the temporary account).
• Restart the computer.

Let us know if you are able to sign in to the administrator account after following the steps above.

Since you already tried creating a new local user account while you're disconnected to the Internet, we suggest that you create a new Administrator account using a Command Prompt at Boot using Advanced Startup Options. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Press and hold the power button on your PC until it powers off. Press the power button on your PC to turn it on.
  
• A Windows logo screen or a Please wait screen will appear on the screen after repeating a force shutdown for three times.
  
• The system would enter advanced recovery interface. Click Advanced options to enter Windows Recovery Environment.
  
• In Windows Recovery Environment, click Troubleshoot.
• Under Advance options, then click Command Prompt.
• On the Command Prompt screen, type the following:

• net user /add [username] [password]
• net localgroup administrators [username] /add

Note: Mind the spaces, don't include the brackets while creating a username and password.

After creating a username and password, proceed with the log in screen of your Windows 10 and enter the new credentials.
