Windows 10: Hello There everyone.... ERROR 31 OF MICROSOFT BASIC DISPLAY DRIVER

MY QUESTION IS THAT I HAVE A HP ZBOOK 14 LAPTOP.....AND ITS DISPLAY DRIVERS ARE GIVING A PROBLEM WHILE UPDATING...WHEN I AM UPDATING THE DISPLAY DRIVERS ITS SHOWS 2 OF THEM ONE THAT IS NORMAL INTEL DRIVER AND OTHER ONE WITH FAULTY SYMBOL MICROSOFT BASIC DISPLAY DRIVER....WHEN I AM TRYING TO UPDATE THE MICROSOFT BASIC ONE THEN THE LAPTOP HANGS AND NOT EVEN OPENS...THEN I HAD TO RUN DIAGNOSTIC TOOL TO BACK THE LAPTOP USING WINDOWS RESTORE POINT HOW TO FIX THIS ERROR 31 OF MICROSOFT BASIC DISPLAY DRIVER PLEASE HELP.... AND MY LAPTOP IS USING INTEL 5500 GRAPHICS

Microsoft Basic Display Adapter not working properly (error code 31)

I've been getting "graphics device driver error code 31", but when i try to update my drivers both on my GPU (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080) and on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter it says the latest drivers are already downloaded. When I then try to choose manually from the computer it fails.

I've tried:

• Updating my GPU drivers
  
• Updating the Microsoft Basic Display Adapters drivers (both manually and automatically)
  
• Checked for updates on Windows Update
  
• Inactivated and re-activated the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
  
• Uninstalling the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and restarting my PC
  

I don't know what else I can do

Help would be greatly appreciated

MICROSOFT BASIC DISPLAY DRIVER with error code 31 please help.

Hello, On my old DELL XPS L502x, there are two display adapters one is INTEL HD 3000 and the second one is Nvidia Geforce GT 540m and the Nvidia one is not showing. Instead of the nvidia one it is showing MICROSOFT BASIC DISPLAY ADAPTER with the ERROR CODE 31.....I'm worried, please HELP. And my windows version is 8.1 Pro and i've tried installing driver from the official website but my windows version is not compatible i guess....and i've tried everything but nothing helped.

 

Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device Code 31

Hello, I am having an issue with my desktop computer. In dxdiag the following message is displayed under display 1:

There is a problem with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter device. For more information, search for 'graphics device driver error code 31'

My PC specs are as follows:

AMD Ryzen 7 7700x

32GB DDR5 RAM

Nvidia RTX 3070

and my c drive is on an NVMe SSD

I am on the most recent version of Windows 10, 21H2 and my graphics driver is up to date (with the driver from Nvidia).

I tried uninstalling the Microsoft Basic Display adapter driver from the device manager, however after a restart it shows back up with the same error code. I have also tried running the troubleshooter which doesn't help, and I've completely uninstalled all current and previous graphics drivers, and installed the latest driver from Nvidia to no avail.

Not quite sure what to do now.
