Windows 10: Hello there! I just got an old Acer laptop from my father, he said it was too slow now and...

I have been playing some games with this laptop and I also upgraded it to Windows 10, and now I'm trying to figure out the problem with its 100% disk usage and 70% ~ 80% RAM usage for 2 days now non-stop, I'm not an expert with these stuff but I've figured out something about "SysMain" and have disabled it as people suggested, although it's still at 100% disk usage and high RAM. I just searched the model of this laptop and its probably something like an Aspire E14I came to a conclusion that this laptop might have a virus but I need more help with this thing and now I'm running out of options a

If you prefer, you still can revert it back using the factory restore procedure, there's a hotkey on every new acer laptop/PC. just my two cents

 

Acer Laptops :are they crap ?

Acer makes a cheap prodcut period. They user lower end plastics, as well as assembly. (I hate working on Acer laptops)

If budget is an issue then get an acer... though for $50 more you could get a gateway that will smoke the acer in terms of quality.

For a laptop though i would suggest one of the DV7T's from HP or a Business class Toshiba/HP/IBM (not the lenovo branded, the Thinkpads)

 

Slow Laptop

Hello cottonball, my late father in his 80s had his battles with back to an earlier versions of Windows and one of his standard phrase was: "Son, just keep it simple!" I want to help you but I need some [technical] information from you first! Throwing endless suggestions and "do this" and "do thats" are likely rather confusing and/or like tapping around in the dark. So first things first: What Lenovo laptop? Model year & number? Next would be to know details about your configuration etc. et al. But first things first!
