    Are there any error messages displayed in Discord or Windows sound settings when the microphone cuts out?

    Also, did the Discord mic ever work while playing Call of Duty, or is this a recent issue?

    What steps have you taken to fix this issue? This could help me avoid providing the same suggestions.

    In the meantime, some audio applications can take exclusive control of your microphone. This might conflict with Discord. Right-click the speaker icon in your taskbar, and select "Sound settings" > "Sound Control Panel." Right-click your microphone, and go to the "Properties" > "Advanced" tab. Uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

    Also, some threads on the internet stated that if your CPU reaches 100% while in the game, Discord will cut out. The thread suggested that the issue is between Call of Duty and 4-core CPUs. May I ask what are your specs?

    3rd party applications not detecting microphone.

    I recently did a full reset of my PC and my microphone stopped detecting any sound on 3rd party applications like browsers or Discord. When I try to record anything, silence is recorded. However it works perfectly fine on all native Windows apps and surprisingly
    League of Legends voice chat. Before the reset, everything worked perfectly on all applications. I have only one microphone device enabled (Realtek High Definition Audio) and it's my built-in microphone of my laptop. I've tried everything i found on the internet
    but nothing seems to work.

    • I updated microphone drivers.
    • I allowed apps to access my microphone (in microphone privacy settings)
    • I installed all windows updates
    • I disabled all sound effects on the device.
    Is there anything else I could try?
