    [Help] Alt-codes changed? (Win7 ⇒ Win10)

I used to use alt-codes a lot in windows 7, but i recently updated it to windows 10 (a week ago, today). Now, whenever i type alt+(code), as i used to, i can't get any of the characters i used to get before. it's like everything changed, and i can't find any references of these changes.

additionally, trying to find the "offset" (i guess it got offset because of the "commands" alt codes that are usually used by machines, like printers?) resulted in a lot of the codes looking like a black diamond symbol with a question mark on it.

does alt no-longer work in windows 10? am i missing fonts? i don't understand what's happening. it's been one headache over the other ever since i upgraded a week ago. it's almost like a complete downgrade from windows 7. and the worst part is, when i tried to install it at a different drive, the installation completely ignored my choices and replaced my previous OS. i really want to not hate windows 10, but it's leaving me no choices

    Little Alt Code Utility

It does do that, mlee. All buttons have tooltips with the alt code and a description listed in it.

The masculine ordinal number in Spanish, Italian and Portugese? I'm not even sure what it is for ... lol

    Little Alt Code Utility

I had originally thought of including all of the characters with accents and a lot of other special punctuation, but I was trying to keep the GUI small.
The intent of this app was for quick characters when forum posting and not a comprehensive list of all the possible alt codes.
I will give it some thought. Maybe a settings option so the GUI only displays the character sets that you need/want.

Upgrade to Win10 from Win7 desktop, windows update

I did the upgrade from Win7 to Win10 last week. It seemed to go fine but I have no desktop icons, no apps listed on the Start Menu, All Apps option, and Windows Update has been stuck at 2% downloading an update. I've run sfc /scannow and DISM through
advanced command prompt with no change in behavior. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
