Windows 10: HELP! BACK-UP FILES INTO AN EXTENAL SEAGATE DRIVE DID NOT OPEN AFTER REFORMATTING MY LAPTOP.

I have backed up all my data into an external Seagate drive and have my Acer Aspire 15 Laptop on Windows 10 reformatted. The tech guy told me that I could have Windows 11 so I consented. After this, I was able to restore all the files that I had saved on my desktop. But I was unable to restore any of the files that I have saved to the Document folder. I contacted Seagate and they did everything possible to help with no result. They even try remotely but nothing works. Seagate concluded that I should contact Microsoft for help and let them know that my computer did not have the image file.Pleas

How to reformat Seagate Wireless Hard Drive as Vista won't recognise it

I have a seagate wireless hard drive however my laptop running vista will not recognise it. I cannot see it under "My Computer" and when I right click on "My Computer" and go to "Manage", "Storage" I can see "Disk 1 Unknown" and the box to the right has
a black line through it with "931.51 GB Unallocated". I then checked "Device Manager" "Disk drives" "Seagate Wireless Plus USB Device" double clicked and under "General" it says "Device is working properly". I have uninstalled the drive and switched the laptop
off and plugged the Seagate into another USB port and switched the PC back on and it reinstalled the hardware for the drive however I can still not see the drive in "My Computer" Seagate have suggested I need to reformat the drive which I am happy to do as
I have it backed up but I don't how to reformat as under properties under "Device Manger" I doesn't give an option to reformat. Please Help

 

missing backup files on Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex after Windows 10 upgrade

I have a few backups on a small GoFlex external drive that are not being recognized since upgrading my laptop system to Windows 10. I can see them when I open up the drive but the 'Seagate Dashboard' does not include them in the restorable file listing.
I know they are still on the drive but cannot access them for restore. Any suggestions, the forums have been no help.

suggest that you try changing the drive letter and its path and see if it addresses the issue. Follow the steps below:

• Right-click the Windows key and click Computer Management.
• Under Storage, click Disk Management.
• Find your Seagate External Hard Drive, right-click it and select
  Change Drive Letter and Paths.
• Click on Change and select the letter for the drive.
• Click OK, close all windows, then restart your computer.
