Windows 10: Help cannot use keyboard in microsoft related apps

Just updated to windows 11 from windows 10. But for some reason the keyboard doesn't seem to work when I try to type in settings, windows search bar and even applications from the Microsoft store like photos, movie player etc. This did not happen before on windows 10. The keyboard works fine on everything else but only on Microsoft related apps.

This issue might occur due to some corruption in the Windows Store.

I would suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try running Windows store app troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the
  Search area on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Click on View all on the left panel of the Troubleshooting Windows.
  
• 
  Select Windows store Apps.
  
• 
  Follow the on screen instruction.
  

If issue persist, I suggest you to try method2.

Method 2: Try resetting the Windows Store cache and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps to Reset Windows Store cache.

• 
  Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
  

If issue persist, I suggest you to try method 3.

Keyboard problem in Windows 10

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.
