Windows 10: [HELP] Can't hear anything from my new headset, yet the volume mixer is detecting sounds

I just bought myself a new headset, after using apple earbuds for the last 5 days.

On my previous earbuds sound worked without any problems, but on my HyperX headset, I can't hear any sounds whatsoever. The volume mixer is detecting sounds... I just updated all drivers and the problem did not resolve itself.

I used the win10 sound troubleshooter and apparently I have a problem with my Generic Audio Driver.

How can i get the volume mixer sound for a particular game if it's muted from volume mixer

OT- Sound Issues

Since programs are only listed in volume mixer if they are "making sound", and you mute it from volume mixer, how can you get it back as listed on volume mixer because if it's muted from volume mixer then it won't make sound for volume mixer to identify
therefore you can never get it back, but I need volume for the game I'm playing. Is there a way to get it to reappear even though it's permanently muted? I've been searching for an answer but it's all saying to make the program make noise so it registers,
but it's muted from volume mixer, so how do I get it to make noise??

 

Can't Hear "Ding" Sound When Changing Volume

I cant think why that should have happened but check the volume of system sounds as a first step.

right click on the speaker icon in taskbar and select Open volume mixer

in the volume mixer check the volume of system sounds and make sure that it is not muted (look at the icon below the volume slider).

if its not that, come back to us and i will try something else, do you hear other system sounds?

I would like to inform you if a game is permanently muted in volume mixer, then you won’t be getting sound for that particular game. The applications which are having sound option might be listed in the volume mixer if you find those applications in
the volume mixer separately, then you can adjust the volume of those applications separately.
