Windows 10: Help! Computer freezes while reinstalling windows

So i've been having problems with my computer and thought it would be good to optimize my computer by reinstalling windows while still keeping all of my files, my computer is saying "Installing Windows." im at 83 % and then it decides to freeze, would it be alright to shut down my PC and reboot?

Doesn't system restore help? You mentioned that it was when you made some updates to Windows that it started acting up, which is why i suggested to try and determine which one was the culprit and skip it permanently.

It is possible some Windows files got messed up and that's what's causing the instability. If this is the case, then a fresh Windows install will help.
