Help! Deleted all subkeys in registry of hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/office

Hello guys! I know I made a stupid mistake but please help me out.So I have my laptop where in Outlook I had a previous work account logged in which wasn't getting removed even after I did everything. Today I found a new way to delete all Outlook info, which is by deleting registrykey data. But instead of deleting just Outlook keys, I deleted whole registry subkeys in the folder hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/office and now all my MS Office applications are showing as unlicensed product which was not the case before. I currently do not have any active MS Office or 3

    :)

  2. Registry folder removed after reboot

You need to do this to find out:

    1. Play the game, then close it.
    2. Check if the registry subkeys of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\ exist.
    3. Reboot.
    4. Check if the registry subkeys of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\ exist.

I strongly suspect that the answer is "Yes" in Steps 2 and 4. This would mean that the game deletes the subkeys.

  3. Security folder missing from the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Security

Hi.....I am having a similar problem but with Microsoft Word.

I am still using Word 2003 and all of a sudden, I get this error message when attempting to open a Word document:

"You are attempting to open a file that was created in an earlier version of Microsoft Office. This file type is blocked from opening in this version by your registry policy setting."

So I've investigated and found the steps to update the registry:

To enable Word 2003 to open files in earlier Word file types, follow these steps:

    • Exit Word 2003.
    • Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
    • Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Security
    • After you select the subkey that is specified in step 3, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click Key.
    • Type FileOpenBlock, and then press ENTER.
    • With the FileOpenBlock subkey selected, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
    • Type FilesBeforeVersion, and then press ENTER.
    • Right-click FilesBeforeVersion, and then click Modify.
    • In the Value data box, type the value that corresponds to one of the values in the Word file version table, and then click OK.
The problem is there is NO SECURITY FOLDER when I get there!!!!

Help! Deleted all subkeys in registry of hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/office

    Registry strange behavior in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\...

I tried to clear all contents of
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts
then set security permission to logger user name () to be clear from:

    • create key
    • set value
and let it inherently apply to all keys under it

But it responds with icons flickering / blinking very often
so I undo the security setting.. but while keeping on registry browsing under this key I came across:

    1. The jpg filetype key and userchoice key were created
    2. On userchoice key the logging user () ACL was created, and
    3. It's set to DENY on SET VALUE !

Is it windows 10 behavior or an intruder's been screwing up ?
Please help me.. many thanks in advance
