Windows 10: Help Feels like there is a white filter on everything suddenly

Hello I encountered a problem with my laptop two days ago where everything seems to have a white filter couldn't find a fix when I searched

I tried to go into NVIDIA control panel but I have on board graphics card so I don't have the settings

Then I went into Windows 10 display colour calibration and so that the gamma default was set to the middle of the slider and I had to turn it down to 15 to 20% gamma that seems too kind of fixed it but every time I turn on my laptop it turns back to have this white filter again I had to do the same thing again

What could cause this problem I was doing nothing when the problem occurred please help

I restarted, unfortunately it didn't help the Cortana issue. Dark mode didn't fix it either. I did get a new clue though. If I mark something on the list as completed, the text appears.





So it seems to be a font issue - as the completed item uses the strikethru font, which displays normally. I feel like the regular list is somehow set to a white font.

I have a lot of space for display content in Cortana search list, and 80% of it not used because Cortana sorting items by types.
How disable all filters and make visible all suggested content?

Well, I don't use a tablet.
My PC is listed in specs.
The OP was expressing a dislike of a white explorer background.
Someone else posted it was necessary to edit the registry to make changes.
Still others suggested it is a good idea to use a shell replacement ?
And another thought recompiling the explorer.exe binary using an editor makes sense ?

Using high contrast, it is easy
and a simple few clicks to make all kinds of changes.

It is also easy and simple to switch from default non colorized theme
to high contrast mode. (one click)
