    Help finding out why my computer keeps restarting on its own


    My Computer sometimes restarts randomly and I'm trying to figure out whats causing it. I've used event viewer to find the time of the restart but want further information to figure out why it happened. Is this possible? Thanks.

    girlfriends needs help with her computer, keeps restarting

    girlfriend calls, HELP my computer keeps restarting. lol
    so the problem:

    Her computer is constantly restarting when it gets to the WINDOWS XP loading screen and then shuts down.

    it will get to start windows normally, start windows in safe mode.. blah blah blah, and she enters start windows normally, get passed this screen then gets to the WINDOWS XP loading screen ( guessing thats the BOOT SCREEN) and restarts.

    please help

    Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

    Computer not booting to desktop, stuck at Restarting screen

    Hi Fred,

    Thank you for posting in Community.

    The issue might occur if the system is not Shut down properly. As you have already tried restarting the system several times, I suggest you to perform a Power Drain by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Turn Off the computer and remove the power cable.
    • Long press the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
    • Plug in the power cable and switch on the computer.
