Windows 10: HELP. Folder marked as .d file unable to edit

I was trying to delete a folder and it wouldn't let me. When I tried to rename it wouldn't let me as well.

Please can anyone else I want to/need to delete this folder. I even tried to delete it with webroot but it wouldn't let me. Anything I attempted is denied.

They were marked as system files by virus so i wasnt able to see.. i enabled to view system files in options then i can see folder but yet cant unhide.

i googled and found solution.

I tried attrib -s -h folder name & it worked for that folder. Then I tried attrib -s -h /s /d which did all the folders, sub-folders in a single go.

 

How to edit permission of folders in vista

In vista if some software try to copy files or folders to original directory then installation fails or programms cant run due to permission.
i want to edit permissions of folder ..but cant select any option..
rightclick on any folder- properties-security-edit-select writre..but i'm unable to edit it.

that's y i'm unable to run some application
even i'm not able to run emule.

plz solve my problem.

Thank you for posting back. Only files inside of the folder will be deleted not the entire D drive. Let check if taking ownership of your folder will do the trick. Please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

• Go to the drive that contains the file or Folder.
• Right Click of mouse on that file or Folder and Choose “Properties“.
• Navigate to “Security” tab.
• Click on Edit, then click Add.
  
• Under the "Enter the object names to select box"- type "Everyone"(without quotes) and click on "Check names".
• Click Ok.
• A new window will open up with Security tab- Under "Permisssions for Everyone", Check mark the "Full control" option.
• Apply and Ok.
• Ownership allowed for folder or file.
