Windows 10: HELP I am completely jammed in Excel

Earlier today, I was working in Excel when suddenly an error message appeared stating "Disk is full". I have NEVER seen this in my long life with Excel. I have no idea why it suddenly appeared and it cannot really be because the disk is full for it is not full and besides if it was full, would I not get the same error message in Word as well as other apps? Yes, it is true I have many workbooks open presently with many being 14, plus I have 23 or 24 documents open in Word, and I also have many pages or tabs I guess open in Chrome at various websites. So let's see if I can count all of them. There are 7 Chrome pages open, In the first there are 13 tabs. In the second there are 7 tabs open, in the third there are 8 tabs open, in the fourth there are 25 tabs open, in the fifth, there are 10 open tabs, in the sixth there are 13 tabs here and finally in the seventh there are two tabs open.

But I have a lot of memory, and a lot of storage space so all of that should not be a problem. Honestly it has been so long since I looked at the memory I do not remember how much or how to find out but enough I am not concerned about it.


Anyway, I have this Excel error message that cannot be closed so then EXCEL is jammed and I can do NOTHING. How do I get out of it so I can do something. Understand in many of the workbooks open, there is a chance that not all have been saved therefore pulling the plug is not an option. I had thought I had posted this today immediately when this happened but must not have so I am now completely desperate as to what to do to get unjammed and out of this mess.

HELP PLEASE!

In closing, please let me say this. It used to be in early versions of Windows, there was an ESCAPE in case something like this happened and all you had to do was hit a key, a specific key that just happened to have said, ESC for escape. But Microsoft in its extreme wisdom decided that jams never happen with Microsoft and t herefore the so-called ESCAPE key was not needed and so now there is no known way of escaping situations such as I am in at the moment unless some brain somewhere in the corporation said, "Wait a minute, we must have an ESCAPE key and therefore developed some other key to allow us to escape a complete or near complete jam. Anyone happen to know if this is the case and if so, what is it, PLEASE?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Paper jam.

My Kodak ESP 2170 all in one printer keeps showing paper jam. I have cleared all paper out of it but when I push the ok button it clicks and gives a code of 3523 paper jam. Any suggestion on what to do?
