  1. Help, i cannot change the iTunes backup files location to the HDD drive

So i backed up my iphone into my pc but i wanted to change the backup location to the HDD instead of the SSD. I followed this guide; I created a new MobileSync folder and copied the backup to there, then opened cmd and i pasted the command

    MkLink /J "%UserProfile%\Apple\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\MobileSync\Backup"

as it said, but then cmd tells me

C:\Users\Muon>MkLink /J "%UserProfile%\Apple\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\MobileSync\Backup" Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

I know shitfuck about programing or cmd so i have no clue what to do

  2. Change Backup Location

I'm trying to update my phone, but can't so far because my C drive doesn't have enough space for a backup. My computer is partitioned right now, so is there any way to change the backup location (i.e. to another drive)

    Thanks

  3. How to set a Backup location (Windows XP)?

Hi Greg - It is Windows 7.

The problem is when I attach an external hard drive to use as a backup the device does not come up as a possible backup (if I go through the steps to choose a backup). Nor is it listed as a folder in the Libraries window to drag files into.

I have gone through via Windows help all steps, and yet the drive is still not appearing as a possible Backup location.

    (It is listed in Devices).

If you can explain to me how to set this external hard drive up as a backup I'd be grateful!

  4. Help, i cannot change the iTunes backup files location to the HDD drive

    Itunes Help Please

Change the location of your iTunes folder to your other hard drive in the advanced settings, and also put the import bitrate at 128kbps. Then view all of your music, press ctrl-A and right click a file and hit convert to AAC.
