Windows 10: Help installing ASUS wireless network adapter PCE-AC51

Hi all.. I have been trying to install an ASUS PCE-AC51 wireless network adapter to my win 10 computer with no luck. My copmputer has Gigabyte board and AMD processor. I can get the exact specifics if you need themThe problem is the adapter does not show in the device manager. I built the computer and buil;t 3 of them. This one was at my moms house and was on cable ethernet. I see that connection but not the wireless adapter. I think it might be a driver issue. the card has the power light on. any help would be welcomed.. banging my head against the desk for a while now.

Slow speeds from the Asus PCE-AC51 Network card

I just got a new PC built with the Asus PCE-AC51 and the downloads speeds are so low compared to what i get from my mobile phone and ipad

With my phone i get 160Mbps Download / 37Mbps Upload

With the Asus PCE-AC51 i only get 40Mbps Download / 30Mbps

Im in the same location when i tested the speeds, is there something in the setting that may be capping the speeds?

Seems like it will only connect to the 2.4ghz and not the 5ghz based on those speeds

 

Asus AC51 - Cannot turn on wireless

Hi,

I recently moved my AC51 USB wireless adapter from my old iMac to a 4 year-old Lenovo laptop running Windows 10. I've installed the latest driver & utility from the Asus website & checked in Device Manager that all is OK with the adapter.

My router is a Netgear Nighthawk 7500 with latest firmware

But the AC51 does not see ANY wifi networks, in the Utility the 'Radio' is showing 'Off', I've clicked the On button but no change.

I put the AC51 back in the iMac, the Utility finds 15 networks & connects to mine automatically.

Is there a problem with the Asus Utility & Win10?

PS - The laptop has a Broadcom 802.11n adaptor & has never been able to hold a connection to the Nighthawk.

No mention of price tho. Im guessing it's ~100$/100€+ considering AC68 was ~70€
