Windows 10: Help me please! How to DELETE an ICON on DESKTOP, not taskbar.

I used to be able to right click on the desktop icon and get the option to 'delete'. I no longer have that, when I right click now on a frozen icon I get the options: View, Sort by, Refresh, Paste, 'Intel Graphics settings', New, Display settings, and Personalized. I have Windows 10. I have searched everywhere I can think of to have someone help me delete these unwanted icons. Please respond.

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Trying to move desktop icon to the task bar. Cannot make it “stick” to the taskbar

• what exactly when you try to stick the excel file to the taskbar?

If you are trying to pin the excel workbook to the taskbar.

Follow the steps below.

• 
  Click on the start menu, select the icon and right-click on the icon.
  
• 
  From the list, select pin it to taskbar or pin it to start.
  

Also, you can drag the icon from the desktop and drop on the task bar.

Removing desktop icons

I want to remove some Icons from my desktop, but Vista asks for Admin permission to continue (I'm not an admin *Frown ).
It seems that whenever I delete one of these icons from my desktop, it is also removed from all the other user accounts. For example, I deleted the Skype icon from my desktop, and it was then removed from everyone elses as well.
How can I delete icons from my desktop only, without affecting anyone elses?
