Windows 10: HELP - MONITOR DRIVERS ISSUE

Hi all,


I just bought a gaming monitor that is GSYNC Compatible but manufacturer doesnt provide drivers on website so Windows 10 automatically selects PNP Monitor drivers as default.


Monitor - ASUS VG270QR - https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VG278QR/HelpDesk_Download/


Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 - All drivers up to date.


I spent $250 on this monitor and i would truly love to utilize it to its full potential.


Please somebody help me install correct drivers. I already downloaded all the windows update and have been searching methods on google for 2 days with no luck.

Dell XPS 15.6 Monitor issues

Hi,

Monitors may not work as expected if the driver is not up-to-date. With this said, we suggest that you check if you have the latest drivers installed. In addition, we would like to ask some questions that may help us to isolate the issue.

• Does the external monitor work with your laptop before?
• Have you tried to connect the external monitor to your desktop?
• When did the issue start?
• Were there any changes made to your computer prior to the issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

'Generic PnP monitor' issue

Hello Angelica,

I would suggest you follow steps to update the monitor driver:

Press Windows + X keys

Choose Device manager

Click on Monitors

Right click on ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and click on update driver

Tap on Browse my computer for driver software

Tap on Let me pick from a list of available drivers

Choose ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and tap on Next

When you are done please restart the computer.

I understand the inconvenience that primary monitor of your computer says that there are no driver updates to Windows 10. We will help you to resolve this issue.



I would like to inform that as the manufacturer website says there are no updated driver, you will have to wait for the drivers to be released.



I suggest you to refer to the below steps as a workaround and check if it helps:

Method 1: I suggest you to try the steps check for the updates using below updates:

• 
  Right click on the Start button on the desktop and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  With Device Manager open, click
  > icon to open the category that you think contains the device you want to update the drivers for.
  
• 
  Once you've found the device you're updating drivers for, right click on the hardware's name or icon and choose
  Update Driver Software.
  
• 
  The Update Driver Software wizard will begin, which we'll completely step through to finish the Windows 10 driver update for this piece of hardware.
  
• 
  Follow the onscreen instructions.
  

Note: If updates are found the device would be updated.
