Windows 10: Help! My computer keeps randomly beeping when my microphone is muted.

Hello, My computer keeps randomly beeping whenever I have my Shure MV-7 microphone muted. I know it is a sound issue because I found a fix before and it worked until Microsoft updated something and the beeps are back. Now I cannot find the fix again. It is not a RAM issue, and all of my drivers are up to date. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad with Windows 11 Pro and I run some Bose desktop speakers through a ThinkPad docking station. The mic goes through the docking station too. Also, I don't know if this is related, but the mic randomly turns on. It usually happens sometime throughout the night so

microphone mutes itself

When i go into properties the mike is muted. When I unmute it works for less than a minute then mutes again. The only suggestion I have found is set as default device which does not solve problem. I have also read it is a virus but I cannot solve with malware or virus scans. It first became a problem just a few weeks ago while skyping. Never had a problem with mike until then.

Troubleshooter finds the microphone muted and fixes, Within a minute the microphone mutes itself again.

Looking for suggestions on how to keep my computers microphone muted after waking from sleep.

I have a Windows 10 machine with a USB microphone attached (also have a XBoxOne Kinect connected).

For security reasons (Cortana is active) I choose to mute the microphone when I am not actively using it.

On first boot up the microphone is active (I am OK with this) so as part of my boot up routine I manually mute the microphone using the button on the mic.

This mutes the mic and turns off the tally light on the mic.

After putting the machine to sleep (or letting it go to sleep on its own) and waking back up on login the microphone is now unmuted.
And worst of all the microphones tally light is not on meaning there is no visual indication that the machine is actively listening.

Suggestions???
