Windows 10: HELP!! my keyboard only works to enter my pin to sign into windows and in games.

My keyboard only works to enter my pin to sign into windows and in games, but does not work on the desktop, I've tried a different keyboard, swap to a different usb port, updating drivers, uninstalling drivers and reinstall. nothing works.Any other ideas on what I can do?

• Which build and version of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using before reinstalling Windows?
• Have you tried resetting your PIN?
• Did you get any error messages after you verified the PIN you entered?

Windows 10 PIN sign in buffer auto-fills with garbage when signing in and flags that they entered the wrong PIN and to try again... when it then works okay.

Hello, this sounds to me like it may be an issue with your keyboard when using PIN. At least I would like to know if thats an issue first before proceeding even though it works everywhere else.

First troubleshooting step I suggest is trying to take out the keyboard and go into pin sign in. Does it still mess up?

 

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.
