Windows 10: Help my laptop is stuck at "preparing disk errors ,this might take over an hour to complete...

I had some problems with updating my laptop , when it finally did my laptop seemed to work just fine then when i tried to open it today it gave me this screen and stuck there for hours what should i do

Laptop of Windows 10 Stuck at Powering ON-"Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete."

While i was using my laptop it stucked and i waited for some hours but the laptop still wouldnt respond. So, i closed it from the power switch button and pressed it again to open. Unfortunately, whenever
I start up my laptop now, the Windows 10 logo pops up and it comes up again with the message "Preparing automatic repair." Then goes to "Diagnosing your PC." And after it stucks at "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." Though
i waited for HOURS, it still wouldn't start. I've got some Serious PRECIOUS Files of Work on my computer that i cannot find anywhere else and not being able to access them KILLS ME. I may not be able to find them ever again if my pc doesn't turn on eventually.
I'm really anxious and stressed. Can someone help me? I tried searching my problem in the Microsoft Community but nothing was really helpful. I have no problem getting a new pc, but am i able to somehow get the files and put them into my new pc? I'm so confused.
ANY Help would be appreciated.

How long did you wait to determine it is non-responsive?

• Check to ensure there is disk activity (look at the hard disk LED light to confirm. If there is, keep waiting. If it goes beyond 1 hour, try the following steps.
• Power down the computer. Unplug it, then wait 10 to 20 mins.
• If you are using a laptop, remove the battery if the option is available.
• Disconnect it from the Internet (unplug Ethernet and/or turn off Wi-Fi).
• Plug it again, ensure it remains disconnected from the Internet then start computer.
• See if it completes setup.
• If setup completes and you see the desktop with the ability to click Start and launch programs, proceed to reconnect to the Internet.
