Windows 10: Help my laptop was stolen. I do not know if location is on. What can I do? It won't lock.

My HP Pavilion laptop was stolen today. I'm trying to lock it, but it won't lock. I do not think location is on. I'm panicking. What can I do?

My Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series, N7537 laptop has been stolen (robed actually). I was searching a way to find it out. But, I am shocked that nothing could help me. Every solution was telling about a per-installed app. But, the thief will be formatting my
hard-disk for sure, if he wants to use it. Is there any way to find the location of the Windows 10 Laptops? At least history. I can see, my laptop is listed in my device list of my Microsoft account.

Any sort of help to find the location of my laptop (at-least history of the location) is appreciated. Please don't suggest any Pre-installed software. You already know, I have no option to install it on my laptop.

Microsoft cannot lock your laptop, they do not have access like that to your devices, but you may be able to lock it or even trace its location.

Log into this link: https://account.microsoft.com/devices

Under that laptop, Find My Device tab.

That may be able to find the location of your laptop, if it has been connected to the Internet since it was stolen.

When you find your device on the map, select Lock - Next and follow the steps

That will either immediately lock your laptop or it will be automatically locked the next time it appears online
