Windows 10: Help! My Mouse Is Crazy!

So whenever I click on an application (we'll take chrome for an example), my mouse will completely focus on only the segment I clicked on. For an example: I clicked on the add new tabs button but I have to double click it so it can confirm to focus on the part that lines the tabs up. An easier one to understand is I boot up my pc and try to press google chrome or discord on the task bar but they only get highlighted in that usual gray you get when hovering over things but nothing opens. You have to click it again. Everything else is able to be highlighted once you clicked on chrome or any other app on the task bar once though mainly because it's focused on the the dektop



PS: This gives me disabilities such as:

Unable to click on links

Unable to press on YouTube buttons

Unable to click on servers or dms

Unable to go onto any other application without doing the double clicking thing for it.







If I described this too badly please let me know



Edit: This only happened after I came back from holiday. I had to update a few updates in the future so I'm assuming this happened only because of them?

mouse is not working right


unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
• Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.
