Windows 10: Help. My mouse prompt keeps moves left after left clicking something in the middle of the...

It occurs when trying to use calculator, windows settings, and game box. possibly more. It is very frustrating when these programs don't want to work right. I have tried a different mouse. Left click mouse

Perform the following steps:
1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy or paste:
2) sfc /scannow
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4) chkdsk /scan
5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
6) Net user test /add
7) Shutdown /r
8) When the computer reboots sign on with the new user named test
9) Check the performance of the mouse with the new user named test and report the results into the thread

 

Left click not registering

I suggest you start the trouble-shooting effort with simple left-click actions, e.g. like so:

• Single click any desktop item. This should highlight the item.
• Double-click any desktop item. This should open it.
• Drag any desktop item do a different place, using your mouse. Can you move it?

Could it be that your mouse buttons are reversed?

 

Left click not working on USB mouse

So last night I updated Windows and ever since then when I try left click with my track pad it works and then I will plug in my USB mouse the left click won't work on either the mouse or the track pad. If I unplug the USB mouse then the track pad won't
left click anymore unless I restart my laptop. I have genuinely no idea what is going on right now but if anyone has any suggestions or could help me I would really appreciate it.
