Windows 10: Help needed on installing new speakers on desktop

Hello there I am running Windows 10 on a desktop. My existing speakers are about 10 years old and no longer work very well. I have bought new ones - Z150 Logitech. I have plugged them in as shown in the instructions and it is exactly the same as the old ones. When I try to add a new device the system cannot find anything to add. I have tried removing the old speakers on the system and have also restarted the computer. Even though the old speakers are no longer plugged in the system still seems to recognise them. I am not very tech savvy so would be grateful for any help or advice. If it's anything to do with Drivers needing to be upgraded then I really haven't got a clue how to do this. Thanks in advance

Speakers and headphones work at the same time

Let us isolate your concern by answering these few questions.

• Have you tried connecting your headphones directly to your desktop?
• Does your speaker work normally when connected to your desktop?

You may try the following steps to help resolve your concern:

• Unplug or Disconnect your speaker from the desktop.
• Connect your headphone directly to the desktop.

If the headphone works properly when directly connected to the desktop, we suggest that you contact your speaker manufacturer for assistance.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
