Help Needed Please With Hiding A Systray Icon When Restarting.

Could anyone please help. I have created a program to autostart when Windows 10 first boots up, but what i dont want is for the icon to show in the system tray at all. I know you can customise notification area and choose which icons you want to hide and show but thats not the way im looking for. Basically all im wanting to do is, make a program startup with windows and then keep the program running in the background and not show the icon altother.

The program in question is the old power off for the 360 controller. Ive created it to start up with windows using windows manager 10 but the icon is not needed at all and i like to keep thing nice and tidy. Ive tried the notification area options but that does not give me what i want. I was looking at something like maybe a regedit or a third party program or something that can do this for me. I want the program to start up with windows and run in the background which it does. I just dont want the icon that comes with it to sit in my systray. If anyone has any ideas at all, could you please let me know.
    Thanks for your time guys.
    J.

    :)

I looked inside my Windows 7 registry for information and keys related to icon notification area/tray -- and it was a complicated group of keys! I hope you can find a 3rd party utility that will do what you want; editing the registry is probably a bad idea for this one.

I did use Windows Manager 10 to create the start up entry and that worked like a charm. I also thought maybe creating a shortcut and adding /hide at the end but when i clicked on it, the icon was still on the tray, or is they another command you can type from editing a shortcut like /hidden maybe, but dont really understand that to much.

    Thanks for replying btw.

I guess its some kind of tool or software program like yamisoft windows 10 manager. Theres probably a way of doing it with that, but i have no idea. Again thanks for the reply and any help or advice is appreciate. A 1 click tool would be great ha!

    Thanks again!

I thought something like this would of been easy to find, but i have tried a few tools but nothing so far that works. All i want to do is stop an icon from showing in system tray but still keep the program running.

    Im still searching ha!

That just might be the answer im looking for, but even as i service running in the background it could still show the icon maybe. Im sure theres a simple enough way of doing this, its just finding the right piece of software. I did come across a page offering 8 of the best programs for hiding the icons. only 2 of them did what i was after and they didnt work on windows 10 lol. Ill take alook at that link aswell. I would very much like a piece of software to do this for me, but we will have to see what happens.
Thanks for your reply, and if all else fails i will resort to creating a service and try that!
    Thanks again mate!

Just to update you, I tried the creating as a service and it still shows up in notification area. I guess its a tweak or program of some sort that i need that will let me allow this. Its finding the program thats hard. Ive search everything i can think of and no joy! Anyways ill keep looking and in the meantime if anyone does have an idea, id love to hear it!
Thanks guys, ill still check back often you never know someone might have already done this ha!
