  1. Help needed - Windows 10 slows down and becomes unresponsive after 1-3 hours

    Hey all,

Over the last week I'm encountering issues with Windows 10 and I'm at my wits end on how to solve it. In short, anywhere between 1-3 hours (although sometimes faster, sometimes slower) after turning on my pc, Windows 10 just becomes unresponsive - The taskbar freezes out, webpages refuse to load, shortcuts on my desktop stop working. File browser becomes totally unresponsive, and if I'm able to select the shutdown option, absolutely nothing happens. I've no idea whats causing it or how to stop it.

    Brief overview of system specs:

    • 8700k / Asrock Fatality Z370
    • Windows 10 64bit OS build 18362.778
    • 32gb Ram
    • 1080i
    • 250gb boot SSD (with approx 150gb free)
    • 500gb SSD
    • 3TB HDD

I've never really had any issues with this PC and I've no idea what to do. At a guess it may have something to do with the windows update from around 2 weeks ago? But I had a few days of no issues after the updating before things started going wrong.

    Some other things to mention

    • I have about 150gb free on my boot disk
    • I use Iobit Advanced System Care (Pro version) regularly and it isn't reporting any issues that could be connected.
    • Have done Disk Cleanup, trim SSD, registry clean up but still having the issue
    • The pc was cleaned out about 3 weeks ago, although I didn't replace the thermal paste. My CPU temps are well below anything concerning.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? Happy to give more information if it'll help!

    Cheers
