Windows 10: Help needed

Hi, Yesterday my pc (4yo Dell laptop) has started working painfully slow, to the extent that almost nothing can be successfully done. I didn't do anything explicit over few days but I admit to downloading torrents in the past. Yesterday however, I've only seen few vids on YT then ive packed my laptop into a backpack and went to my gf, where I've noticed that my pc struggles to play one video to the end. Long story short, after countless restarts, updating everything i could and doing full scans with windows defender and bitdefender, there is one noticeable pattern - for q few minutes after each time the system starts it's all ok, then it gets terribly laggy, i wait for some windows to be opened up to 10mins. In task manager i can see that my graphic processor is being used in up to 70-80% (100% even)of its capacity at some times. This is intel GPU, not nvidia card which is at 0% use all the time. Processes that are being pointed out as those that are resource consuming differ constantly which i find weird. Mostly it's dwm.exe, but as I was doing a full scan of my files, task manager would show that it's bitdefender that use up insane levels of capacity of my GPU. So my first theories would be that someone is mining crypto and the virus masks itself as any given program that runs in the foreground. But win defender and bitdefender both claim that everything is fine and that they've found no dangers. Has anyone ever had such problem? I'm actually panicking pretty hard because I have a paper due in a week. Also I may have expressed myself unclearly in this post, so feel please do ask if something were hard to understand, also apologies for my written language.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
