Windows 10: HELP PLEASE!! What is the max ram capacity for the two slots on Ms a68gt??

Does anyone know what is the max ram capacity for the two slots on maxsun ms-a68gt. I have an old 4gb ram ddr3 1866 and decided to buy the same ram but 8gb.It won't boot with just the 8gb alone but will boot if they are put together or just the 4gb ram. But the problem is when I put them together the 8gb can't be used although it can be read in bios that my ram is 12gb. I checked my os and it's windows 10 64 bit. It also says 12gb3.46gb usable on the system info.Things that I have tried:1.Reinstalling windows2.Removed CMOS battery 3.Tried booting up with just the new 8gb ram on both slots bu

Greetings my friend. Like 'Mike P', my dell has only two slots as well. There are several laptops that have four (4) ram slots. Lenovo, ASUS, some HP's and some dell's. I would suggest going to a website like newegg.com, or other computer accessory place,
and looking at their memory/ram selections. Reading their details should provide some insight as to the number of slots.

Of course, if your budget allows, the more ram you have, the better the laptop will be.

Checking RAM slots on Windows-10: Discrepancy between wmic and Crucial scanner

I am trying to find RAM configuration for my Ideapad 520s (80X200EPIN).

1. wmic shows 2 memory devices with capacity of 32GB:
   

1. Task manager shows Slots used: 1 of 2:
   

1. However, system check from Crucial only 1 slot with 16GB max capacity.
   

Can someone please let me know which one is true, and why the discrepancy?

You never read or understood what I wrote.

YOU have to do the checks I suggested that you do:

You can't install any type of RAM and size of RAM that you wish to and you are governed by the Motherboards maximum capacity for installing RAM.

In other words, you may want to install 8GBS but your Motherboard's max. RAM capacity may be 4GBs, or it may be at the max now.

Those slots will also have a Max. amount of RAM that can be installed in each slot.

Either go to your Computer/Laptop Manufacturer's website > Support/Downloads Section > look up the exact details there.

Or it may be easier for you to download the Crucial Scanner which will tell you what is the matching RAM for your Motherboard and the max. amount of RAM your Motherboard can accommodate, etc...
