Windows 10: Help resetting pin

I changed my pin because my roommate kept using my laptop but instead of changing it just started using both and when I tried to fix that by changing it it said incorrect pin so I used a random pin as example to try and get my friend to help my change it but the pin went through even though it said incorrect and now I don’t know what it is and pin is the only sign in option I tried restoring it back to a past update but o don’t have any restore points so I’m stuck I’m been searching ways to try and fix it for a couple hours but nothings worked

Can't reset my PIN

1. Were there any changes made to the operating system recently?
   
2. Is the system connected with Wired or wireless connection?
   

If you are using wireless connection, I suggest you to plug in to the Ethernet cable and try entering the password. I also suggest you to change the Microsoft password by login to
login.live.com from other device. Try entering the password through
on-screen keyboard.

I also suggest you to enable build-in admin account using command prompt from WinRE, follow the below steps, and check if that helps.

Step: Enable built-in admin from WinRE.

1. On the login screen click on the power button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
2. Hold Shift key and click on restart.
3. Click on Troubleshoot.
4. Click on Advanced options.
5. Click on Command Prompt.
6. Type the command net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter key.
7. Once logged in to the built in admin account, try changing the current user account password.

If you are unable to change the password for the account, I suggest you to create a new user account. Follow the steps from the article to create a new user account

Windows 10 PIN Sign-in

• Which build and version of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using before reinstalling Windows?
• Have you tried resetting your PIN?
• Did you get any error messages after you verified the PIN you entered?

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".
