Windows 10: Help solve DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE Dec 6 2023

Hello, I get BSOD when I attempt to restart or shutdown my pc, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. This issue is driving me crazy. I've posted my dump files.My graphics and chipset drivers are up to date. I get an error called DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. Windows 10 BSOD - DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

However, please let us know:

• When exactly do you receive the Blue Screen error?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
  winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
  Enter.
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?
  

I have tried to access the link for dump files shared by you. However, I was unable to access the link. I would suggest you to upload the files in OneDrive and share the link.



The DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE error occurs when the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. You may want to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Remarks section of the
article Bug Check 0x9F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
and see if that helps.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting
from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Persistent DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE blue screens on Windows 11

I've finally reached my limit in trying to debug this myself, and am reaching out to the community on this one for support. Ever since I upgraded my machine to Windows 11, I've been getting fairly regular blue screens for DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE errors. They're almost all reported to be in ntoskrnl.exe, with a small number in afd.sys. I can't pin it to any one activity I do on the machine either. Sometimes it will crash during games, sometimes it will crash when I've stepped away from my computer for a bit.

The system having issues:

ASRock B650 Taichi, with the latest BIOS released last week

AMD Ryzen 7900

NVidia 2070 GTX

Samsung 980 Pro M.2 SSD

Samsung 860 EVO SATA SSD

Samsung 850 EVO SATA SSD

The system has an Intel Killer E3100G NIC, an AMD Radeon internal GPU, and a Realtek USB audio chip.

Here's what I've tried so far:

1. Cut down on the number of external devices attached to the system. At this point I'm down to a Logitech G604 mouse, an Apple keyboard, and a 4-port USB switch (for sharing the other two devices with another system).

2. Updated every driver that I can find to the latest versions, taking special care to find ones that are specifically denoted for Windows 11.

3. Disabled the built-in Wifi and Internal GPU devices via Device Manager.

4. Run Driver Verifier, which resulted in no findings.

5. Run sfc /scannow and DISM.exe to verify that the Windows installation is valid.

6. Set Windows into high-performance power mode to hopefully reduce the amount of attempts for it to sleep.

Unfortunately, the bluescreens persist. I have crash dumps for the last 5 or 6 of them, and bluescreenview looks like this:

I'm basically at a loss at this point. I'm about ready to just wipe the machine, reinstall Windows 10, and deal with all of the nag prompts to update to Windows 11 for a while.

Any ideas? I can upload any of the dump files necessary to track this down.
