  1. Help to delete an unwanted network name in Windows 10

I have been trying for hours to try and delete an old network name of ours as we have received a new router. I have been unsuccessful in trying to use the Intel Proset wireless wi fi connection utility as I believe this is not featured in Windows 10? I am not a tech person so I have literally been googling etc. I have gone through the process of "forgetting" the network on all our devices but the name still appears under the Settings option. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you.

I am running an Acer computer.

    :)

  2. How do I change the network adapter name? (Windows 10)

Press Windows Key + R, type secpol.msc and press Enter to run it. In Local Security Policy window, go to the Network List Manager Policies in the left pane. Now in the right pane double click on the network name that you want to change. In the Properties windows under the Name section make sure that Name is selected. Now in the input field enter the name that you wish to use for your connection. Click Apply then OK to save the changes. And you might have to log in again or to restart your computer before the changes are applied.

    Delete saved Ethernet Networks

    Hello,

To delete unwanted network profiles, we can try doing it from the Control Panel first. Here are the steps:

    • Search for Control Panel using the Cortana search box.
    • On the upper right part of the Control Panel windows, type network.
    • Under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
    • Right click on the unwanted network from the list on this window and select Delete.
    • Once done deleting all the unwanted network connections, restart your PC.
Make sure that you are running the PC as the administrator before proceeding with the steps above.

Let us know how it goes.

Delete Wireless Network Profile in Windows 10

    Hi Shawn.

I notice that when deleting unwanted network profiles using any of the methods, that the networks remain listed in the network list in registry under the profiles tab.

I s it a good idea (or risky?) to delete the profiles for unwanted networks? When travelling a lot, one tends to accumulate many public Wi-Fi profiles that you may never use again.
