    Help!!! W10 Duplicate Mode One Portrait One Landscape


    I have a laptop which is in landscape and I have an external monitor which is attached and fixed into a portrait position. I have before been able to get the displays to show landscape on my laptop and portrait on the external monitor. But I shut down or restart the laptop and all my settings are gone. I spend frustrating hours trying to get the monitors back and only by some dumb luck get it to go. What is the simple way to get the monitors to display in duplicate mode one landscape and one portrait and STAY that way? Thank you!

    Ah, now I understand! You are not talking about an option in the tool, you are talking about printer options.

    First, Snip & Sketch and the Snipping Tool are not the same tool. They are 2 distinctly different apps.

    The first screenshot below shows the Snipping Tool and the second shows Snip & Sketch.

    Regardless, the portrait vs. landscape mode you describe has absolutely nothing to do with either tool. CTRL + P is the print dialog. If you want the default to be changed to Portrait mode, then you need to go into Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners > Select your printer, change the default to Portrait mode.

    NOTE: With some drivers, the manner in which you access the exact setting for portrait vs landscape mode may vary, but you should find it somewhere in the printer settings.

    Again, it has nothing to do with the tool, but rather with the printer driver configuration.
