Windows 10: [HELP] Want to migrate pre-installed windows 10 from HDD to SSD

Hello, fellow Redditors,

I want to install an SSD in my HP Pavillion 15 laptop. The laptop Windows 10 pre-installed in HDD.

I wish to install SSD in SATA and move the HDD to caddy.

My local computer guy told me that I have to install new windows in SSD with a new key and delete windows from my HDD before installing it via caddy.

I inquired if it is possible to install windows in SSD with the old key (key of the pre-installed window) to which he replied it's not gonna work as the key is attached to HDD itself.

I asked if we migrate Windows from HDD to SSD will it be fine? He answered it has no success rate.

Main Question :

Is there any way around to migrate the pre-installed windows 10 from the old HDD to new SSD and use them together in a laptop without any issue?

i need to migrate from my current hdd to ssd,Without losing data and windows how can i make copy from hdd,Is there any software availabe for that ????i need secure and easy software

 

Move Windows 10 from installed hdd to installed ssd

Get a disk cloning software and do the cloning job, from HDD to SSD on PC.

Change boot priority to cloned SSD in BIOS or remove HDD to test if you can boot up successfully.

Cloning method is safe but still it is good to create a backup image for your Win10 before you start.

Migration from Hdd to m2.SSD

Recently I have purchased a new laptop (hp probook 450 G4) and a new original windows 10 home edition and now I want to upgrade my 1 TB Hdd to a new m2 ssd and my laptop supports another slot for the m2 ssd so I can run both
the m2 ssd & hdd at the same time but I will make the m2 ssd the boot drive and the hdd will be the data drive.
MY Question is how can I migrate system drive to the new m2 ssd without the need to reinstall windows or any other installed programs and there is another thing, when I checked the disk management I found 3 recovery partitions will I have to
migrate them too or I have to migrate the system drive only
