Windows 10: Help! Weird input/menu problems!

I am having weird intermittent problems where it seems like windows thinks a key is being pressed repeatedly.

Mostly it thinks the 3 key is being pressed but sometimes it seems to think ctrl or down arrow is being held down. And once it just wouldn't let me open the start menu for a while. Sometimes it goes away for up to a day at a time for seemingly no reason but it always comes back. It also goes away when restarting but only for about the first minute, just long enough to log in.

I've tried running sfc and dism, uninstalling recently changed software, virus scans, different keyboards, tweaking accessability settings, and starting in safe mode with nothing plugged in but a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

I've hit the point where the only thing I can think of is a clean install of windows but that would take an insane amount of time to get everything back to how I had it and I want to try all possible fixes first.

Weird BSOD problem


Hi Everyone,

I have a weird BSOD problem which I cannot solve for a while(it persists still after upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7)

The main strange thing about this is that I get BSOD only after cold boot.
So it acts like this:

1. start PC.
2. Get to Windows Logo Screen
3. BSOD
4. Restart
5. Get to menu where I can try to repair or Start NormallyIf I Choose Repair, it will fail to repair and will try to restoreIf I Choose Start Normally, it will start OK, no BSOD, can work normally, games, browse internet, everything is normal.6. Shutdown PC
7. Next time when I start is all over again i.e. Go to Step 1

I have this problem for a while, so what I tried:

1. Another Windows 7
2. Another HDD
3. Only HDD connected
4. Changed RAM
5. Tried with built in GPU
6. Upgraded to Windows 10

Result is the same as above every time.

Please suggest what could be the cause.

PS. This thread is a continuation of this one: Frequent multiple errors BSOD. Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums the only thing changed is Windows 10 now. instead of Windows 7. If that helps somehow.

 

Input language English, Keyboard German

This issue might occur if the input method settings are not configured properly.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  Press Windows key + X key and select
  Control Panel from the menu.

  Click on Clock, Language, and Region option.

  Click on Language and click on
  Advanced settings in the left pane.

  Select the required input in the drop down menu under
  Override for default input method.

  Click on Save.
  

If the required language is not listed, follow the steps below to add the required language and then perform the above mentioned changes.

Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
