Windows 10: Help! Why does my laptop only turn on whilst plugged in and on 100% brightness?

Hello, I have an HP Laptop 15 that I use for my studies.The screen goes black when I unplug it, even with full charge. The only way I can maintain it on is with the charger and 100% display brightness. I researched a similar situation, a Microsoft assistant Carlo suggested I go intoisplay ManagerUpdate Graphics to an existing one other than the currentDoing so the brightness whilst being altered to a little more than half stayed at the brightness of 100%. I do have my suspicions though, the power went out while I charged my computer for finals. Is my laptop salvageable? It is new, 5 months

Can't adjust brightness when the power plugged or unplugged

Hi there,

• Previous status:

brightness 100%, plugged in; brightness 50%, unplugged.

When I unplugged the laptop, the brightness will decrease down to 50%. And will increase back to 100% when the laptop plugged in back automatically.

• Current status:

Always keep the last brightness setting, no matter laptop plugged in or unplugged, the brightness doesn't change.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks!

 

When plugged in, battery saver turns off, but the screen brightness stays at the battery saver brightness

For my laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5i), I have these battery saver set so that it turns on at 20% and lowers the brightness of my screen when it turns on.

Then, whenever I plug it in to charge, the battery saver turns off--this is normal

My main issue is that when the battery saver turns off after plugging the device back in, the screen brightness will return to normal for a very brief moment, then return back to the brightness level when in battery saver mode (at this point, the battery saver is off).

What I've tried:

• I've tried manually turning off the lower power mode. When doing this, the brightness returns to normal, as intended.
  

So why does this not work when the battery saver turns off due to the laptop charging? And what can I do to resolve this?

 

Screen dimming even at 100% brightness

Hi recently bought a Lenovo laptop, a Lenovo V14-ARE laptop, and as soon as I turned it on I noticed, when I put it on 100% brightness it is bright and vivid but then it dims. After a while, the screen brightens again then proceeds to dim once again in a
few seconds. When I plug it in to charge, the screen is bright and vivid but as soon as I unplug it, it dims. I already left clicked on the power icon in the task bar, went to power options and selected "choose when to turn off the display", clicked "change
advanced power settings", scrolled down to "display" and opened its list, but the only option I have for the display's list is "turn off display after", in the Youtube videos I've seen they have an "adaptive brightness" setting or something like that and that
fixes their problem but I don't have that option. My power plan is also in high performance and everything is "on battery" but the problem still happens.

Can this problem be fixed?
